Run a project

The editor’s transport has Build, Cancel, build options, and Play/Pause/Step/Stop controls. Build is an explicit part of the workflow: Play can trigger a build when the selected target has not been built during the current editor session, and the project starts after a successful build.

For a standalone project, the source README also shows the direct Cargo path:

Terminal window
cd /path/to/project
cargo run

The exact binary and feature selection come from the project’s Cargo.toml and warp_app.toml. Warp does not infer gameplay or simulation semantics from the project; it launches the renderer that the project supplies.

If a build fails, inspect the editor’s Output and Problems panels before changing the project manifest. The repository contains specific guidance for keeping the engine and project’s local egui/epaint patches aligned.
