Installation

Warp’s inspected repository does not advertise a public installer or downloadable binary. The reliable documented path is to obtain the source checkout and use a current Rust toolchain with Cargo.

From the repository root, verify the workspace and build the standalone editor:

cargo check -p warp_editor
cargo run -p warp_editor

The workspace pins local egui and epaint forks through the root [patch.crates-io] block. Keep that block intact when working in a project that links Warp; Cargo resolves patches from the root manifest of the build.

The source includes platform-specific dependencies and cross-build scripts. Read Supported platforms before treating a target as supported.
